Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first class county clubs within the ECB. Founded in 1865, Worcestershire CCC has a rich history and has had a significant contribution to English cricket over the years. With 5 County Championship wins the club has a strong tradition of developing homegrown talent, with players like Basil D’Oliveira, Graeme Hick, and more recently, Moeen Ali. The club has also been successful in attracting world class domestic and international talent, such as Ian Botham, Tom Moody and Glen Turner.

Throughout its history Worcestershire CCC has had several memorable years however their standout period came in the late 80’s. During this time the club won 4 major trophies winning both the County Championship and Pro 40 back to back. Club legend Phil Neale was the captain during this time and was praised for his ability to guide a star studded team and ultimately won Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1989.

In 2018 Worcestershire CCC claimed their first T20 trophy, by beating a formidable Sussex side in the final. Ben Cox and Moeen Ali both played a significant role in leading the team to victory and helping Worcester CCC claim their first trophy in 11 years.

Off the field, Worcestershire CCC has always been involved in the local community, running various programs and initiatives to promote cricket at the grassroots level. They also have a vibrant supporter base, with fans turning out to the New Road stadium to cheer on the team during home matches. Overall, Worcestershire CCC continues to be a proud institution in English cricket, upholding its tradition of excellence on and off the field while developing the next generation of players.
